Can we increase treasure map drop rate?

I log on daily for a treasure map I usually aim for boarskin or peisteskin but I hate how long it takes to get a map to pop it's ridiculous. So I am asking to increase the rate at which maps appear while gathering. What does everyone feel about this?

It would be nice but not really needed.

If you think maps are bad you haven't tried for soil. I have gathered 198 carbon 3s without seeing a single level 2 soil.

It goes much faster if you don't actually gather anything.

Hit a node, check if it has a map/soil, if it doesn't move on to the next node. You have to cycle between at least 3 nodes for it to work, though.

While veering a bit off-topic, I actually find the rate in which I fish up random treasure maps while fishing for beast tribe quests to be kind of annoying, especially when I almost always get Leather or Goatskin maps. Would like a way to toss those back and not use up the map allowance.

But for Mining and Botany? Since it's a daily thing, I say why not?

The second to last set of dailies (1 oaknot each) are in a fishing hole with Boarskin maps.. works out really well! I recommend going out to collect your map before doing Ixali dailies to avoid getting a map you don't like. I exclusively fish for maps and have had it (rarely) take over 30 minutes.. so please no reduction in rates.

If you fish a lot and want to avoid getting the wrong type of map, then always carry one of those maps in your inventory. I always have leather, goat and toad skin maps in my inventory to stop fishing them up:)

But it would be so much better if we could just release them like we can with any fish we dont want.

East Shroud, Bramble Patch, Miner lvl 50. Check a node, no map/soil, move to next node. Takes 10min tops, couldn't ask for a faster farm.
