Choco meteors...too many...

This thing is op as hell xD, and it rains from coffers, along with hero's tonics. Would it be too much to ask to lower the amount of choco meteors from coffers? Lately, I'm playing "to choco meteor or to be choco meteored" rather than chocobo racing...
There are even instances where I get meteored three and even four times in a few seconds, and unlike briars, there's nothing you can do about it, there is just no counter other than luck.

Without something interesting happening in some races, don't you think it would get boring? I get meteored and I laugh and it's fun. I meteor someone and it makes me laugh too. Also I get meteored and sometimes it makes me win, because the chocobo behind me would have passed me otherwise. This is not something that needs to be changed in my opinion.

I have a feeling that the items are going to be seeing some sort of change in the next patch, even if it means mixing them up differently to better avoid those frequent combo Trollteor outcomes.

The luck thing though is kinda just what it is lol. The fact any beneficial item appears is purely luck, and that's perfectly fine to go with. If it weren't, I think a game like Mario Kart would see complaints about the random item distribution. Even moreso for FFXIV to be okay, due to the fact racing isn't the point of the games existence, so it's not going to be as intricate as MK. There were several races that I took part in where everyone getting hit by the Meteors actually helped me win 1st more often than them causing something bad to happen.

Meteor in my honest opinion are totally fine. I have a problem when they appear in a chest in like 3's or 4's in a row, and then suddenly everybody in the front field just got meteor rained on. There only known way to counter meteors is with hero's tonic, and the chances of you holding on to one, or it not getting stolen, are pretty slim. 1 meteor is cool, 2 is still not to bad, but 3+ is a bit much, there just shouldn't be that many in a single chest, ever period.

How is something that almost triviallizes anything you could possibly do in an entire race fun?

I get meteored 3 times in a span of 3 seconds and I'm put at 5% of stamina when I'm at 45% of the race. I leave the controller on the floor whenever that happens. Don't think it's much fun to be honest.

Well I'm getting millions of them in the tier bracket I'm in, it's literally an average of 2 choco meteors every race, and yes, there's always the one/couple guys that managed a hero's tonic, for some reason meteors and hero's tonics appear in the same chests a lot of times.

How often would you say that specific scenario happens though? I mean, I've encountered pretty much exactly what you said, but it's been extremely rare. Even one meteor early on hitting everyone isn't that common in my own experience during the first half of the race (probably not even 1/3 the time). Meteors happening near the end, be it just one or a barrage of them, is far more common in my experience.

I can't speak for max R-brackets, but if that were the case, I think there'd be more complaints about that. Or at the very least, the strategy would be to fall back early on if it were that common to get a Meteor and /lol to victory.

I had a funny match where the very first item from the first chest was a meteor.
Don't quote me on it; but I think the occurance of meteors might have to do with the time set by the forerunner. I noticed seeing them a lot more when I or someone else was way ahead.

Had one match when I was starting out where the second box in Tranquil Paths was chocked FULL of Meteors. All hell broke loose and at exactly 40% of the race track every single racer had 0% stamina.

Was kinda funny seeing everyone trying to block each other and get ahead while waddling like penguins the rest of the 60%. I guess it's fine if it happens very, very rarely.
