Has there been any mention of overhauling the Glamour system?

Honestly, as much as I love FFXIV, the Glamour system seems overly complicated, to me, and I think it's the biggest reason that inventory-space is such an issue.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again; FFXIV needs to adopt a similar system to Guild Wars 2's Wardrobe.

Instead of having to store all that data on every single character, you instead "unlock" items' appearances on the Account-wide level, merely by equipping them. I would still keep Job restrictions in place, obviously, and I'd even be fine with keeping level restrictions around.

By utilizing this kind of system, it removes the need to hold onto EVERY SINGLE ITEM you like the appearance of, because let's face it, EVERYTHING looks good in this game. It would take some work to implement, but the end-result should be more convenient for players, and presumably less taxing on the servers, as (most) players wouldn't be so starved for inventory space.

Plus, it would be awesome for when you acquire those items with Gender-specific variants, to be able to unlock the corresponding clothes for the opposite gender (namely, the Lightning Returns clothes).

I support this! Guild Wars 2's wardrobe system is the best I have seen.

Yeah I find it very troublesome that in all these interviews, not ONCE has Yoshida mentioned the concern about our big inventory woes. With the three new jobs, players who leveled and USE all jobs at any given time will have their Main Weapon tab in Armoury Chest at 23/25... That is WAY too cramped! And not counting glamours either, of course.

I have four retainers and am fighting to have any space left >_<!

He did, actually. But it was just to make an excuse for why adding inventory space is hard.

Like I said, I feel like Glamour is really eating away at a lot of players' inventory-space. Using this type of system would lighten the load, pretty substantially I would imagine. It would also be a lot easier to manage, particularly if you could save Glamour "Sets", to easily fill in any un-glamoured pieces as you get upgrades, or even just to bounce between different "looks" from time to time.

I like the glamour crystal system honestly. If it ever does get changed, I hope glamour crystals continue to be necessary to change appearance. It's great having an easy way to make gil just by having a level 50 craft.

Though I must say, I'm really not sure how people have so much trouble with inventory space in this game...one of my retainers is full of outfits I glamour too, but the other one just has random mats that I'm just too lazy to sell. Her inventory would be completely empty if I did some spring cleaning.

Do people just keep every little material they get?

+1 for supporting this idea. Would be great if we could get a community rep response on passing this info upwards!

And lets not even get into all the crafting mats you hold on to when you start a new crafting class.
