Depends.
If we're about to kill any boss (aside from the last boss), or for some reason the person in question died just as we cleared a pack right afterwards, I'll let them release and return.
Otherwise I will Swiftcast + Raise / Resurrection ASAP to keep the run going.
If we're out of combat, my MP will come back easily enough. Raise and move on, dead body's choice of if the debuff is worth it.
The reason I ask is, I got bitched out by a tank who died during the 2nd group of DD, he didn't pull the group into the purple light, and I was in the light waiting for him to pull the group to us. We were close to the the start so I figured it would be quicker for him to release and run back, plus he wouldn't have the debuff then either, but he didn't agree, so I just wanted to get other opinions on it.
If there's an inconveniently long run involved, I'll throw out a rez as a courtesy; otherwise I assume that they'll release to avoid the debuff.
Depends on where the shortcut exit is currently, if it's a few seconds away(e.g. if we were still in combat they could return still make it back fore that mob dies) I won't attempt at all out of combat. Beyond that I'll throw them a rez and let them make the choice since I like to keep things moving.
I usually raise them, accepting it is up to them. But it's better to be kind than to be cruel.
