Is it worth grinding out Relic still?

Just started playing last December and I have been stuck on the Animus books for my relic for a while now. I just can't seem to force myself to bother with them since there are so many steps left to max it out and the Expansion is coming in a couple months. I could literally do nothing but relic for the entire time and not finish it by expansion probably.

So I ask you guys this. Is it worth bothering at this point? I'm so far behind that I just can't motivate myself to even bother. It just seems like a long pointless grind. Should I just do some coils instead and grab the Dreadwyrm weapon or Shiva ex weapon? I guess what I really want to know is will SE let those of use hopelessly far behind catch up more easily once the expansion lands? If not I can't see myself ever bothering with the relic.

Once 2.55 hits, they might up the drop rate of the zodiac items, everything else has been needed to hell. grinding out light is easy if you get in a farm party that's good. Getting Alex can be a singe-day thing now. So the only thing that hasn't changed is zodiac drop rates, which took me a week as blm to get, doing nothing but those dungeons. And, you even get something of a boost in the nezt questline if you get zeta(nobody has actually said what it is)

If you work at it you can definitely get it by expansion to me the books were the worst yet I just started alexandrite and have been working on relic about 4 weeks roughly it just depends on how much work you want to put in atm I'm only working on relic

Now if it's worth it or not is a totally different and honestly if you don't care about looks I'd have to guess no I can't imagine the "boost" you get could be worth the 100 of hours needed to get the weapon

And if it's what some people have suggested, you trade it in losing it but skipping ahead on your new relic, I'd rather keep it and do it from the start

I find it worth enough to do a 2nd.
