PvP Gear and Gearing for WD

Ok, so new player to FF but not to MMOs or PvP at all. I am looking into playing PvP with FC friends. I am really confused by the PvP gear. I however, have done some research on what gear to get and what all of the modes you can play actually mean.

...and if there is anywhere to find this information please link it


1) What are the differences between the 2 different level 50 WD games
2) Can someone explain what the hell is going on with The Borderland Ruins Objectives
3) Explain Frontline
4) Explain if PvP gear is worth it - what gear should I work toward? (70, 90?)

1) One is synced to iL 80 with no Morale applied (Morale on PvP gear basically boosts your item level depending on the amount of Morale per piece), and the other is unsynced with no limits with materia effects applied along with Morale).
2) The Borderland Ruins (Slaughter) or (Secure)? They have different objectives.
3) Frontline = Borderland Ruins.
4) PvP gear is best in slot for a lot of cases due to the lack of accuracy in most pieces and because most PvP areas SYNC TO i80, some i90/i100 gear is better than i110/120/130. (http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...2.5-Edition%29 should help you in this respect)

1) In secure, what are the things in the middle that everyone seems to zerg to kill?
2) What is the best way to grind Wolf Marks and PvP Levels?

1) In Secure, at least 24 man since 72 Secure doesn't pop anymore, there are drones in the middle along with the big node. Big node gives a good amount of points while drones give like one each and spawn every 4 minutes or so after the first set are destroyed.

2) The best way to grind Wolf Marks is Frontlines solo queue. Over and over again. Every day. If I didn't take a break, I'd have gotten to 45 in about 1.5 months.. but I played a LOT of games. Talking a few hundred in that span.

3) Most SKILLED players prefer Secure but due to getting pops in Slaughter, people generally queue for Slaughter which is more of a deathmatch mode than a 'capture the flag' mode.
