Is anything actually being done about RMTs?!?!?!

I've been sitting this morning crafting and I just had to empty my blacklist. I have now blacklisted at least 10 RMTs in under 10mins. This is RIDICULOUS!!! and 70% are all working for the same website.

Can not a setting be added that allows a player to select receiving tells from Friends, FC members, Linkshells, Party Members etc? I don't like setting myself to "busy" all day because my friends and acquaintances do send me tells. It just seems to be getting worse everyday and it does take away from my gameplay experience.

I am all for a system for only receiving tells from people on your friends list. It should be an option we can turn on and off. I think this would be the best way to handle this growing problem. As for the time being I just set myself to /busy I've let people in my FC and Linkshells know if they want to /tell me something to let me know in FC or Linkshell chat so I can unbusy myself. It is extra work, but it is the best solution for now. It would be nice though if we could take off the busy status while in a dungeon/raid.

Hey there fellow Levi-ite. I have to admit it is damned bad on our server. Back to back tells from different RMTS saying the exact same message for the same site gets very obnoxious, very fast. The concept of "just ignore them" doesn't work anymore. Although I know SE does do RMT bans every week, it's not enough at this point o simply ban the character. So I propose a three strike system.

Every third time a player is proven to be an RMT, ban the character.
Every third time a character is proven to be an RMT and banned, ban the account.
Every third time an account is proven to be an RMT and banned, ban the IP address.

At some point, the RMT companies will find it more costly to business and either raise their prices (which will deter buyers) and just leave entirely.

EDIT: I also think we should have something like a "White List". Like what OP suggested, it's a /tell system that allows you to customize who you receive /tells from. This way you can opt to choose from "Friends", "Free Companies", "Linkshells", "All", or any combination thereof.
