Can mages use daggers and if so what kind of mage it will be?

I don't know if this kid in the picture below is a new race "Gria" in the future. To be a Gria still missing the tail and wings i assume. But to have a staff and a dagger seen pretty odd to me. I wonder is there is a type of mage that can use a dagger as well.

That's probably just a belt with a dagger as a prop.
Like a bladed lantern shield. or the belt with the throwing knives on it.

Ahh thanks for the info... maybe it was a just a dagger as a prop. To be a necromancer will be to good to imagine... ^_^

That kid is a Padjal, not a Gria. This isn't Ivalice.

Its a non-player race in Gridania
Kan-E-Senna is a padjal, too

He's a Conjurer btw. He's using an Astaroth Cane.

Just a prop, there are several belts like that.

Awww I wanna take off that knife off my chef's belt and cut things with it! Maybe I can ladle an enemy into submission and then grind pepper in their face with the shakers hanging near my butt!

If it's one thing I like about some of the belts it's the added little "features" to them. A chef's belt has a knife, ladel, and some shakers. A survival belt for example has a few pockets, a canteen, and even some type of large blanket-thing or something, attached to the back. A toolbelt has a bunch of pouches. I always wondered where we kept some of our gear, at least with these props on varying belts it makes it a little more believable I'm pulling a rock from somewhere besides my rear end.

I kinda hated it in other games that pouches and other things didn't exist on belts, you didn't even see these cosmetic effects. Sorry to go off topic there but meh...
