What effect would this have had on the community?

Hypothetically speaking, let's say during the patch that released the Zodiac weapon, there was an option to waive half of the required dungeons if the player instead had an Animus book or hunting log like "Kill Rafflesia, Melusine, the Avatar, and Nael deus Darnus." ?

What % of relic weapon users have defeated T5? T9?

What % would there be instead?

I'd say much higher.

(I know Coil and relic are intentionally separated, and relic is mostly to get people back in old easy content for new players)

Well I think this would only benefit raiders since most of our relics are BiS. Honestly there probably wouldn't be much of an effect beside raiders getting relics faster than everybody else.
Oh and raiders will probably have more zodiac weapons since it would be faster to obtain one. I imagine a lot of non-raiders would complain about that.

Mercs would be having a field day.

Anything thing that is flashy that requires people to clear a difficult content = opportunities to make merc's pockets fat... not that I'd complain tho.

bad idea {no thanks} raiders already get BIS 99.99999999% of the time, that's pay off enough.

relics quests have no place in there.

Take raids out of the equation, and I wouldn't mind a hunting log which gave a significant light boost for Nexus/Mahatma grinding. It's easily the longest and most boring aspect of the relic quest, and their recent increase to the light gain hasn't changed that.
