Official GC Unbinding Petition

Dear Dev Team,
First off, I want to say that this game is absolutely amazing. One of the things I enjoy most is Frontlines. I would love to experience more of this but as many have stated, the queue times for Primal amongst others have been 30-60 minutes even during peak hours sometimes. We would love to experience more of Frontlines if possible. Many people would play more Frontlines if the queue times were shorter (and ironically, if they did play, the queue times would be shorter anyways.)
I noticed that in 3.0 there are no plans to remove the Grand Company binding for queue selection. I kindly ask you to reconsider this decision.
I would like to see how many people on the English Forums are in agreement with this petition. All we would like, is to have more Frontlines :)

So, I've noticed that very few people are interested in this idea after a few days. I hope that the devs can do something to increase interest in Frontlines whether it be better rewards or something. For those who cannot play during peak hours, one can go hours without seeing a queue pop. Thanks for the replies and opinions. Maybe there are better ideas for how to reduce queue times, keep the ideas coming please!

I agree with removing GC restrictions. I don't have time for 30min queues. I used to do frontlines several times a week but I've done maybe 1 since GS came out and the queues died.

Based on this survey I did on the forums, it shows players want to get rid of the GC restriction by a 2-1 ratio. It was 24 votes to 12, not counting my vote which I can't cast via the like button, making it 25 to 12. In other words, two players out of three don't like the restriction, and one player out of three does. I'm guessing in more cases than not, it's whoever is in the dominant GC for their datacenter that likes it, since they benefit from being aligned with more win-oriented players, whereas being aligned with the two 'lose-more-than-win' GC's is demoralizing, and moving from one GC to another means being stripped of the accumulated rewards until earning back the PVP rank. That's a lot of time in queue just to have enough games played to get a high rank. It's interesting that ratio of people wanting to get rid of the GC restriction is (2-1), each server would have 2 non-dominant GC's and one dominant one which the GC restriction favors from the perspective of players who aren't In It For The Soldiery Bruh.

I could really enjoy this... I once did... but I don't enjoy games where the odds are stacked against me & in favor of my opponents, and where I have to wait a long time for a smaller chance to win.

I 110% agree op however the lack of ppl that actually visit the forum will sign it we need this done once and for all
I suggest shouts in game to draw attention to this issue and really get this train going

Indeed. Let those who oppose GC que open as long as people who choose to stick to their GC can do it. Dont want to team up with those Adders and Flames, ever.

There are a lot of people who think this will be a good idea, hell we had a thread like this a few months back that had over 50 likes but as usual with anything important regarding pvp, silence was the response. The one i mentioned is far from being the only one either, there's been threads upon threads on this and just nothing comes back in response to this issue.

A LOT of people who had interest in pvp in this game have been phasing out over time because you just see mistake after mistake, interest is probably the lowest it has been for a while so if you don't get a lot of responses that's why (not just you, the whole subforum is quite dead compared to how it was in the past), they need to realize soon that when dealing with PvP, that fluid communication with the community is a must.

I support this. Faster Frontline queues would be good for everyone, no matter which GC they're from. They could give us the option to sign up for either just our GC, or whichever GC is currently outnumbered.

While we're at it, I'd really like them to remove the restrictions on wearing GC gear after switching to a different GC. What's the point of getting nice stuff, like glamour pieces or bardings, if you can't use it anymore once you switch?

Is there actually an official Dev response to removing the GC requirement? People keep referencing one but I haven't seen anything specific.
