companions

will we ever get more companions other then our chocobos??

i personally want a moggle companion to follow me around :P

or even beasttribe companions of some sort since we have befriended groups of all available beasttribes atm so why not have follow us around helping us fight??

That would be awesome, but first they need to make it possible to use a companion while you're queueing in DF, because that's the reason I never use mine.

I just want the Path Companions from version 1.0 to come back - it's the main thing from 1.0 that I miss the most. :(

Chocobo companions are good and all, but I miss my sultry, bisexual miqo'te GLA companion and her constant thinly veiled come-ons. ;)

havent they stated previously companions will be usable while queued in 3.0??

and yeah need more variety in companions i love my chocobo but want somethin different to play with now n then.. moogle has to be the next 1 we get :(

The verbose lala had me googling occasionally and the miqo'te was like inviting ERP on an adventure, good times.. lol

I know in the recent wave of information they reiterated that there may be some opportunities to return to very old content in NPC groups, which I think is awesome (both being able to do very old dead content solo and also possibility of more npc opportunities).

yeah i remember reading somethin about the thought of solo dungeons with hiring npcs to help a whiles back no idea whats gonna happen with it tho

Dragonquest X actually had a feature where you could recruit players who were logged off into your party as companion npcs, and run around the realm adventuring with them by your side. Then when those real players logged back in, they would receive bonus xp and gold relative to what they had done while logged out. That was probably my favorite companion npc system to date.

Have been dying to be able to use companion while logged in DF. I am really surprised it was never allowed in the first place - it basically prevents players from using the DF or from using companions.

Crazy thought - but since this is basically a homage to all ff games past... I'd love to have a Moomba fighting companion. Graw!

I don't like the idea of a mount/animal/critter as a battle companion (sorry, my adorable Chocobo!). I'd rather have that snooty Elezen I had as a Path Companion in 1.0, or a cute Miqo'te, or a feisty Lala, or a cool Au'ra . . . well, you get the idea. xD

It would be neat if we could use our retainers as companions! We can already gear them and customize their look, and send them to do battle-related errands for us. :)

I also really want retainers as in-battle companions. They already feel like a redo of the Path Companion system, what with the customizable personalities and all. It would also be a lot of fun for those of us with retainers modeled after NPCs we want as FF-style party members.
