WAR vs PLD healer-wise

This thread isn't about which is better for healers but which do you prefer to heal, what things do you like/dislike of both and why not maybe some experiences of particularly bad/good wars/plds

Why does nobody use the search function, or even look through the tgreads? You will find a thread over this exact topic, very well established with a fair amount of replies if you looked for it

I mean, really, there really isn't a difference. Pld gets 20% mitigation so they take less damage, but a war gets 25% health/healing boost, but take full damage(Hence the boost) I still do speedruns as pld, and With proper cd management, I do it just as well as either class.

I prefer PLDs, personally. Despite people claiming they're theoretically equal, I just consistently find PLDs are a lot less squishy than WARs.

Depends on content. For stuff like FCoB a PLD main tank generally feels safer while for stuff like 4man dungeons etc I'll generally take a decent WAR any day. Regardless if you are SCH or WHM they require very little maintenance and you can spend more time dps'ing and generally speed up runs drastically. Never feels like PLD's can do that (other than those select few places where they can pull a ton of mobs and Hallowed Ground it, which WAR could just as well Holmgang).

thats becuase most wars suck and try to play war like pld

The only real difference i notice is that you feel a bad WAR more than a bad PLD. A PLD can be a damage sponge all day but for a Healer with a WAR playing as a damage sponge you can sometimes struggle to heal them quick enough through the damage spikes. A run with a good WAR does feel quicker though I'm not sure of the damage difference between classes. Find it easier to DPS with a PLD though so it probably evens out a bit since they can soak more damage before i actually have to worry about them dying.

In either class a bad Tank is a bad Tank and the Healer is the one who feels a bad Tank the most.
