Upgrade PS3 to PS4 on different account

I currently have the PC version and my brother has the PS3 version, but he no longer plays the game, so I wanted to upgrade to the PS4 version so our friends could visit and play the game.

So, we got the promotion code and I downloaded the game on PS4 with my own PSN account, but it will ONLY let my brother login to do the upgrade, which would tie the game to his Playstation account instead of mine.

Is there a way get the game registered to my Playstation account? Or does it at least let anyone log in if he just registers it once so that we don't have to always have him log in with his PSN account first?
