So, whats left of the original FFXIV?

I must say, with all the changes completed (and coming) FFXIV will soon be a completely different game than it was on the day of launch a year ago.

So what's left that hasn't changed?

Battle system - revamped
UI - in progress of being redone
World map - will be redone
Point allotment and levels system - near complete
Leves, NMs, claming system...
Crafting, gathering, transportation...

All being (or will be) changed in the near future.

If someone were to ask me what has changed (and what is being changed soon) I would have to say... everything. I seriously can not think of something in FFXIV aside from the actual modeling of the weapons and armor that hasn't undergone a serious change since last year.

I hope that the community knows just what kind of work that is for the dev team of FFXIV. Mad props for the hard work!

So, lets do what we can here to get FFXIV re-reviewed when PS3 release hits. They at least deserve that much.

Nothing more than a "Mog is in a good mood" thread, and a thank you to the people who are putting time into making FFXIV a better place. Devs, players, community members, forum posters, everyone.

They should have a re-review on the updated game. It'd only be fair..

Auto attack is back because players complained about (moving in battle) ... lolwat?
free leves

simplistic synthesis and with the materia and dark matter system, all items that were needed might be obsolete
Job system totally going to replace the armoury system, so now I'm going to have a clone of myself
Content that's supposed to pass for something to do in the game (Not working since almost everyone is done with it)
Beautiful Graphics
Still crashes in full screen mode
doesn't cater to casual players with the new content being released (crappy armor rehashes that do moot)
The game is full of white knights that don't seem to see ANYTHING wrong with the game and will protect it until they die (They obviously love broken things)

And what do you propose they do instead?

I hear plenty of complaints but no suggestions.

At this point the only thing that has not really been touched on is the core mechanics of the armory.

Now i know some might argue that there going to be playing musical chairs with the skill sets in 1.20. And there is the distinct possibility of more skills getting locked down to native weapon use. But the core mechanics of the system are likely to be the only things that remain the same as it was from the start of testing after the dust settles from the overhaul.

RPG fan is re-reviewing the game every once in a while (and the score has grown up a bit since the original review, by the way). Not sure about other places.
