WHERE is the Gold Saucer?

So, presumably the Gold Saucer is somewhere in the Thanalan desert?
I was hoping to be able to run there, I'd love to see the place from the outside! I initially thought maybe south of Forgotten Springs, but no.

I hope in the future we can get there by means other than airship/teleport.

You can actually see a tiny piece of it south of forgotten springs, but most of it is hidden by a mountain in the distance.
