Gold Saucer challenge log?

As you're probably aware at this point, most people farming for MGP are pretty much crowding around the Imperial to just play him over and over again in Triple Triad, lol. I've been doing the same actually and it has given me less of a reason to even waste time with the minigames and GATEs any more since this takes less time and is more efficient (excluding having incredibly good luck when it comes to Typhon since that gives 1.6k, heh).

So, I was wondering if you guys have plans to introduce the Gold Saucer to the challenge log at some point to give us incentive to participate in the other attractions so we can earn some more MGP. Just some examples:

Claim victory in 100 NPC matches
Claim victory in 100 PvP matches
Succeed in 20 GATEs
Succeed in 50 GATEs
Accumulate 10,000 MGP through Mini Cactpot
Participate in Jumbo Cactpot
etc.

I've been missing a Gold Saucer challenge log as well, though I have to say that your examples are set way too high. If you look at the other possible challenge log entries, they're not so much of a grind as more of an incentive to do those things at all. For example 5 FATEs in different regions and 10 unique FATEs overall. Or 30 and 100 enemies killed together with your chocobo. And considering the mini Cactpot is pure luck and impossible to grind (due to limit of once per day), it'd just annoy people who won ~100-200MGP for that week if the challenge log was set at 10k.

I'd say it's unlikely we'll see a challenge log category for Gold Saucer until 3.0 or later, whenever they decide that enough people have already gotten the achievements -- which in many cases have similar limits to those you've already proposed. Over-all, your limits sound to me more like one-time achievements and less like 'do this once a week'. 100 NPC TT matches per week might not seem like much to those who already grind those to get all the cards, but once you have all the cards, will you still grind them? And what about those who aren't that keen on TT?

I'd probably set the weekly goals a lot more modest, just because they're not supposed to be a grind, more like an incentive to 'try it out' regularly.

So for example:

Claim victory in 10 Triple Triad matches vs unique NPCs (as in 10 different NPCs)
Claim victory in 10 Triple Triad matches vs another player
Place 1-3rd place in 5 chocobo races
Participate in 15 chocobo races.

...and other things along those lines. Easy to achieve means less reward for doing them, sure, but it also means more people will be doing them, which is the whole point of the challenge log =D

Honestly, the examples I gave aren't even that bad.

A. People interested in TT will easily play 100 matches (NPC or player) over the course of an entire week. Those that aren't interested in TT won't be getting it anyway, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be included (just look at all the crafting challenges we have, yet there are plenty of people that don't craft at all)
B. GATEs are the same way, honestly. You have a GATE at every time it ends in :15 or :45, so it wouldn't take long to get these either (if you participate in them anyway)
C. I can understand about the mini Cactpot, but there should be something in there for luck. Some people will clear that challenge through one ticket while others will pick it up throughout the week. I guess 5,000 would be more reasonable though.

Lastly, a lot of the stuff will be easily accomplished anyway since there are still a flood of people in the Gold Saucer as it is and those that aren't interested in the Gold Saucer just won't get them (much like the people that never bother gathering or crafting).

I have probably done more than 100 TT matches in this past week already, but setting the value so high will give no incentive if the rewards is low, which is what it normally is for Challenge logs. Also, 100 victories against other players on TT? After a few matches you loose the bonus from playing with players for the day, so not worth it. 50 Gates? That's spending around 25 hours inside the Gold Saucer, since its only 2 GATEs in 1 hour, and most people prefer to do other stuff than camping for GATES so they get the challenge complete.

The Challenge Log is to do casual things over the week, not grinding like a madman (again).

The point of the challenge log is to encourage people to do things they wouldn't normally do in order to maintain population across all content. If you're basing your challenge log targets on players already being interested in that content then you're missing the point of the challenge log.

100 TT matches is way too high for any player that doesn't particularly care for TT and 50 GATEs is absurd for any casual player (and the challenge log is aimed at casual players). The cactpot logs should literally just count the number of times you try, not your winnings; we already have achievements to track long-term winnings, we don't need that in the challenge log as it's not what the challenge log is for.

I do agree that a challenge log for the Gold Saucer would be a good addition though, assuming the targets were more in line with the goals we have so far...

+1 to the IDEA of a Gold Saucer Challenge Log,

and I wasn't going to post / thinking I was flogging a dead Horse, but since Testsuya already replied, disagreeing with Noxifer . . . I will also re-iterate. Look at the current Challenge Log. I Accidentally complete over half of the challenge log every week. If it's something that a hardcore endgamer can't do 'by accident' then it shouldn't really be in there.

Seconding the idea of a Challenge Log for the Gold Saucer.

I know OP was just giving some examples (albeit inflated), but I do think that the Log should include something that has to do with the mini-games also. They are pretty fun, but they are worthless when it comes to trying to gain some MGP. There should be something like:

Win all 4 mini-games once: 500MGP
Win all 4 mini-games 5 times: 1000MGP

"Winning" can simply mean a return on your investment, not getting the highest score possible.

Every time I walk by while running to a FATE, I see the mini-games empty. I understand, because they are absolutely the worst way to try and get MGP, but the place loses a bit of it's 'carnival' type feel if everyone stays huddled around the Balloon Pop (Triple Triad) and the Cotton Candy stand (Chocobo Racing) and disregards everything else the place has to offer.
