So me and my friend set the date today but our times seem off somehow. I am on CST and he is EST so only an hour apart. Now when I look at my invites they say 5pm but his say 7pm? Should I contact an in game GM or is this normal?

The times are different because it is YOUR time on your invitation. You rock up at the time stated on your invitation and he rocks up on the time stated on his invitation. It is so that you don't have to do time conversions or end up missing the ceremony because you got the time wrong.
You say you are only an hour apart... But is it possible daylight savings switches between now and your ceremony where you live?
Just a thought...
If you don't have daylight savings time, could explain it. I live in CST or MTN depending on the time of year. So sometimes I am one hour different and sometimes 2. Another thimg mau be vhevk computer time it may not be set to cover dst
Bumping this thread since more people pay attention to general. This looks to be an actual issue, if you have a ceremony set I suggest you check your times match up.
