I am wondering why we have 8 linkshells of size 128 + free company of size 512.
I see a better use of having one large LS instead of having so many little ones. Additionally, large FCs that use all their 512 slots function like a LS right?
So, my question is: Do you have uses for 8 separate linkshells?
I think two LS of size ~1000 or four LS of size ~500 would be more useful. One could gather all the players of a particular region or language, or have a common interest.
I generally use all of mine, 3 of them are hunting LS's (one owned by me) 2 friendly banter LS's and finally, 2 raiding linkshells.
I use most of them often, handy for talking with friends outside of my FC, our raiding one is recent and we finally have a proper static going (most of us a bit behind on content, hoping to down T9 soon) it is dedicated to helping people find other players and catch up, particularly on coil.
Gonna have to see if I can drop some of the hunting ones (since I don't hunt much anymore) and organize my linkshells a bit.
I use mine! I have a lot of friends who aren't necessarily in my FC but have LS's or are in LS's I have - I'm actually 8/8 on LS's and all of them run from moderately to very active. :)
1 Raiding LS
1 PvP LS
2 Hunting LS's
3 Social LS's (might get rid of one)
1 Primal/BCOB/SCOB LS to help people get through
If anything I'd like 2 more LS slots XD
I don't even have one.
I rarely talk because I'm most spamming content. But, 7/8 of my linkshells are usually active, with my 7th, "SuperNicePeople" being the most active. In no particular order:
Linkshell 1: GFAQS-Mlbro.1 year!!
Was a day one linkshell created from a user on GameFaqs.
Linkshell 2: The Aetherial Guard
This was my first serious linkshell. Many day one players are still in this one. It's been mildly quiet lately, though, but always a lot of prople online.
Linkshell 3: Static coil groups
As it says. Unfortunately, many folks here are in completely different linkshells and FCs for their raids. Due to my work schedule, it's kinda odd that I STILL can get a group to match my timing.
Linkshell 4: T6-9 n Primals
Same as the above. I help on Primals when I'm on, though.
Linkshell 5: Hunt LS 2.0
My third-favorite linkshell for obvious reasons.
Linkshell 6: Skinky Bastards
A combination of serious players and humorous players.
Linkshell 7: SuperNicePeople
Extremely, extremely, extremely active linkshell. Many players here work hard to help people with stuff, even if they group up and take one person in at a time to ensure everyone get their win. Many of us veterans, many new, many who just want company. They are humorous, but when it's time to battle, they are serious. My favorite linkshell.
Linkshell 8: Light Farmers
A linkshell used for farming lights for Zodiac weapon quest line. Not many members, though. I'm shy'ing away from the grind, so I only join them when I am off work to ensure I make the most of the grind.
Well one linkshell I'm in that I joined day one the game went live for 2.0 another is one similar but was reformed by another member, another is one I have for people I want to stay in contact with if they leave the FC and known from FFXI.
