Independant Mobile Crafting App Idea

So I came up with this quick idea about being able to craft on your phone while not at the computer. Basically, there would be an option in the mog station to purchase a 'crafting retainer', which works similar to normal retainers, except they can craft instead of collect.

Because the retainer does not operate autonomously, it doesn't need to be leveled, and you won't need ventures to use the crafting function (or maybe it should? not quite sure). It will instead copy the levels of the respective character, but you will need to equip them with their own set of crafting gear.

Once you give them their gear and load them up with crafting mats, log on to the app and craft. Crafting mechanics and rotations will work exactly the same as they do in-game.

A possible secondary function of this app is being able to buy and sell items on the marketboard.

Thoughts?

Don't see the benefit.
If I collected everything already and have all mats in my inventory, why not directly craft it?

To craft items when your PC/Playstation is not available, such as long commutes on a train/bus, or during your work break.

Thats a good idea.

I have been trying to set up something like this with 'Splashtop' remote viewing on my cell phone & PC. it works! but its sooo hard to move around. I need to get the 'splastop thd' version and thats only compatible with tables and possibly some phones. check it out.

now im working on the PS4 & vita combo.
im having trouble connecting online with the vita, but thats exactly what im trying to do for work :)

So I could craft all day whilst at work? :O I'm so down for this.

I would be more for this not as a retainer but being able to level my crafting classes... It could be an app purchasable on mogstation with a one time fee, and perhaps it would let you craft using all of your own and your retainers inventories only. I would pay for more retainers if we could have this as an interface for crafting and accessing them all... I'd stock up on all mats I might need. If we can desynth as well... This would be awesome...

Very interesting idea. Not sure what the best way to implement this would be, but I will say this...

If SE comes up with a way to allow me to remote craft via my phone or through some web browser interface, I will love them forever!

If you buy a PSVita and a PS4 license/game you can do this already.

Thats correct!
Funny that this thread started at the same time im testing the PSVita & PS4 combo.
im at work and i just logged in!
the problem was the PS4 not being connected directly to the modem.
(so if your having trouble not connecting to your PS4 away from home via internet... connect your PS4 straight to the modem, not wireless)

Also, to continue my previous reply.
If you dont have a PS4 & Vita. but have a PC & Tablet
Check out 'Splashtop THD' this version allows you to play via internet with a tablet ( I dont think its made for phones but do some research).
it even comes with a virtual gamepad build in. its made for games remotely.

I think Neverwinter did this. It was a nice option to control "retainers" while not logged in.
