Please wait a bit longer after a new content patch to have a free weekend....

This is the first weekend of the new patch and now it's going to be laggy, and longer queue times for PAYING CUSTOMERS that have supported the game the whole time. Stop doing this SE, it really stinks.

Don't get me wrong. I get you want more subs, and new content is a way to entice people back, but maybe... 2 or 3 weeks later pls?

This is a sound request. Every patch, and its unavoidable, there is maintnence afterwards to address issues that arise when content is fully implemented. It would make sense to be sure the content is functioning at its peak for the new players.

On the flip side, I urge people taking advantage of this free login campaign to use the less populated servers. You will have fewer issues.

I think that's a better reason for them to have the free weekend. To show off the new content that's even available at a lower level.

I can't say I ever even notice when there's a free login weekend. I'm sorry it's worse for you, but at least it'll be over soon.

Same results on my end, the only thing I tend to notice during these free campaigns is that there's more stuff in PF.

Because Siren isn't a high population server. Same with the poster below you who mentioned Cactuar.

Or they could just improve server QOL to handle the load. More people playing this game shouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.

On Excal it's horrid. Last time was first weekend of hunts with new upgrades. Honestly I can't imagine who would want to come back JUST for that, but it was pretty bad.

Agreed, with things being as congested as they are it might turn off potential resubs.

I think it's a much better idea to wait atleast a week after patch before they do free login weekends. By that time all the bugs, etc. should've been fixed with maintenance and the crowd disappate.

From a business and advertising stand point this is the best time for free weekends. There are floods of people online after content patches, and if SE brings in new players, they think "wow this game is alive and has lots of people to dothis fun content with". As a reasonable person, I can't really argue with SE's way of thinking here.
