Will there ever be DoH/L activities?

Well, the one-year anniversary for Final Fantasy XIV is rapidly approaching, and with it comes the anniversary of the Eorzea Prelive event.

It's been a tumultuous year, especially for those living and working in Japan. But the development team certainly has put their best foot forward, and it's shown.

Since the changes to crafting are something of a hot topic, I was hoping to pester the devs/comm. reps with a question.

During the Eorzea Prelive event, it was mentioned that there would be activities not only for DoH/L but those that would combine all Disciples.

I understand that things need to be taken one step at a time. Believe me, as a player since beta I've appreciated the effort. But I was just curious what to hope for in regard to DoH/L classes beyond the standard grind.

This would be quite interesting!

Like requiring DoW or DoM players to accompany DoL players on a mission to gather rare materials -- while surrounded by dangerous monsters that would need to be fended off.

Or sending DoH players on a quest to fix a broken device out in the field, perhaps in a beast tribe thus requiring fighters for protection while they work -- or even working together with the beast tribes to fight off another foe.

Just daydreaming here... ^^

It's really sad. They had such big plans and hopes for FFXIV.

All the time they thought they would have to continuously develop new content has been taken away, and they are now desperately making changes to appease the disgruntled player base.

It sounds like they have already laid the ground work for a lot of future activities.

What they probably need now is the time to develop it into playable content.

I just feel like this would really affect my decision on what craft to commit to.

If I just need to level any old craft just to make stuff I'm going to do Blacksmith/Armorer/Miner to support my MRD/GLA.

But if there's party content for DoH/L I think I'd explore all options more before committing to something.

Still no information about giving us something to do other than grinding crafts, even through 1.21 =( Makes me a sad panda

There will be if we make it known that we want them (activities) artisans and gatherers need to unite and make our voices heard, to be as boisterous as the combat players. I have a thread going here as well, about this very topic:

I urge you to take a look, like the posts and bump it. Add your own ideas and talk about how you want group crafting as well!

The more we voice our opinion the more they'll need to consider our desires as just as important as combat classes. Great thread, nostalgic pictures! I had almost forgotten about them, but now I remember what that damn metal plate I can't walk on in Naldiq & Vamelli's is!

There's a lot of ideas similar to this over at the thread I posted above as well, add your voice! Sorry to derail this thread a bit, but I thought it relevant.

It is a bit of a wall of text when you get over there, but check it out!

I could have swore they've mentioned in some interview that they had bigger plans for DoH/DoL jobs besides just your usual grinding.

They have offered some interesting Job Quest, such as the Carpenter one where you had to craft and supply arrows for the NPC during a live battle. I just don't understand why they didn't try to tie this into actual battle with Players.

we can only hope that we will get it soon ^_^
