The relic weapon quest is OBSCENELY boring...

It is the most grindy, tedious, monotonous, bland thing I have seen in any MMO I have ever played, and I've played Lineage 1.

It's one thing to do a lot of stuff that's either fun or at LEAST challenging.

It's entirely another to give us a checklist of random, boring, unchallenging crap and tell us to hop to it...

The book phase is literally, "You know all that content you JUST did to level up? Yeah, go do it again, only this time with no reward for doing so..."

I personally enjoyed it quite a bit. Different strokes for different folks.

The original step that got you the base relic was fun. Everything past it has been terrible rehashed garbage.

Its why I've only taken one to i100 and will never take one further. The other weapons you can get might not be bis but they aren't going to hinder performance.

Yes, it is. The relic quest in this game is far worse than the Epic weapons I farmed for in EQ1.

That's where I stopped as well.

Basically, they handed me a checklist of the most boring, time-wasting, mundane shit imaginable and tried to pass it off as "content".

They literally said "Go back and do old shit you get absolutely nothing from doing".

I have commented on this before in other threads. Its not the grind, but the fact that #1 its boring #2 its not even worth it right now compared to getting better weapons at a faster clip

I got Weathered 110 wep. I had more fun spamming ST
than any of this Relic BS. Hate it. So glad.
But once AST comes out I may do it...may.

I thought they were pretty ridiculous but it went by rather fast. I think most people exaggerate on how much of a grind it is.

They're both killers for me.

Comparing this to WoW's legendary quest, WoW had you do things like run raids and earn valor points (tomestones), aka stuff you were going to do ANYWAY.

Between doing these, you had to do some things that were genuinely challenging and some players couldn't even do (clickers, heh...).

Tedious ≠ challenging. If the ONLY thing that separates you from your objective is TIME, then it's not HARD, it's boring.
