Market Board Suggestion

This problem might have been addressed, but the problem for purchasing from the market board can be a nuisance. If a person decides to sell an item in a huge quantity and lets say I need to purchase 3 of them but all of the sellers are selling in huge quantities. I should be able to choose how many I would like to buy from that specific seller without having to only buy it in a huge unnecessary amount.

You request has been asked for many times and has always fallen on deaf ears.

I, for one, am against this. I only offer the cheapest as a bulk discount. if I wanted to put them up in smaller stacks, I would make them more expensive.

I only have 80 sell slots. I don't want one of them being taken up for a week of someone buying one, buying two, buying five, and having to worry about undercutting for that entire week. I just want to sell it, and give me my slot back so I can sell something else. I have a waiting list of things just waiting for open slots.

Just buy the stack use what you need and sell the rest. I have actually made a ton of extra gil doing this (depending on the item). Even if it sells at the same price you bought it for you'll get your money back.

If you need a few of an item, buy a stack then relist the rest in smaller quantities. You can deal with it for the extra gil you can get for it.

This is like asking Costcos to give you the bulk price without having to buy bulk quantities.

If you find that you need something that only is being sold in stacks of 99 and you don't like it, then farm the item yourself. Why stop there, you could farm extra and sell in smaller stacks to cater to people like yourself.

This is a silly request; what you should be asking is for retainers to be able to sell more than 20 items at a time, and then maybe players might opt to sell their items in reduced numbers.

Or ask for a player base that thinks of more creative ways to compete than decreasing the price of their product by 1 gil. For example, selling their product in convenient amounts so that the buyer spends more gil per unit but less gil on the total sale. Both parties win in this scenario.

If people want to sell in bulk, let them, when ever I get an item thats only being sold in bulk it just makes it easier for me to make a quick sale with single items and my retainer never get full.

I already do this not for myself, but because I know the feeling, and I empathize; however, people that need to move inventory fast are not going to do this no matter what you tell them, and so I made this suggestion.
