Tooltip positioning?

In this game, when a window is on the left half of the screen, tooltips will appear to the bottom-left of the mouse cursor. When the window is moved to the right half of the screen, tooltips will appear to the bottom-right.

Is there any reason for this? Also is there any way to change this?

I find this arrangement extremely annoying. We read from left to right in this game and the bottom-left tooltips cover up information we want to see when we're skimming through items.

Is there some ergonomic reason I don't know that says it's healthier to have tooltips display to the left when you're looking towards the left, and display to the right when you're looking towards the right? :confused:

Old thread but I just read it, there's an option under your Character Settings, go to UI settings then about halfway down under "Display Action Help" is a drop down box for where the tooltip is displayed.

Thanks for the reply. I did try out those settings, but they're of no help.

The three options there have the following effects:

• Follow cursor = current effect
• Fixed coordinates = tooltip position fixed at the designated place in HUD Layout
• Fixed coordinates reversed = just fixed coordinates but mirrored

What I'm looking for is to have the tooltip follow the cursor, but always display towards the bottom-right of my mouse cursor.

Thanks - so helpful - the tool tip previously covered my other actions (next to my cursor). Now it's in a box to the side.
