Or at least, help minimize the appearance.
I don't know if this just hasn't been suggested or just ignored but why is there no option to filter tells? It would be simple enough to add a tab in the options with some check boxes so I could filter out who can send me tells, or at least what is visible to me. There could be a selection between: ALL, FC, LS, Friends list. I know for me and many others it would be nice to be able to just filter your tells and you wouldn't need to see the 5-10 tells an hour from gil spammers. It would function as a more advanced privacy filter as well if you don't want random people sending you tells. I just thought I would post about it, as the option clearly isn't in the game.

It's wont stop them completely but it will at least clean up the chat a little. They make their money on advertising the sites as well.
