Job/Class Imbalance (PvP/PvE)

I don't claim to be an expert at the game, but I was hoping someone could clear something up for me.

I've recently begun PvPing and, upon playing a few matches, I decided that it would probably be in my best interests if I could Protect and Stoneskin myself, as well have access to a few other defensive abilities. I decided to go Pugilist.

To my surprise, wearing the same exact set of PvP gear (Item level 79 ATM), my MONK Had considerably higher stats than my Pugilist. In almost all categories the Monk was NOTICEABLY better than Pugilist.

I would like to see some DIFFERENCE between the two, as opposed to a MONK being FLAT OUT BETTER than Pugilist. Even with the added abilities, only a few of which are worth sacrificing the Job specific ones given by a Monk, Pugilist just isn't a viable option due to the sacrifice in stats.

At the VERY LEAST, at least make the Magic Abilities of a Pugilist superior to that of a Monk. I don't know.

It just feels like the Class/Job divide is too large. Once I unlocked Monk (And White Mage), there was absolutely no reason to ever go back to CNJ or PGL. None. I'd like to see some differences in stats implemented.

For Example - Give the Pugilist slightly higher Vitality for HP and MND for healing spells. As a Monk, you sacrifice HP for higher DPS (Thus Higher STR/DEX), but as a PGL you get more HP.

A CNJ has a higher INT than a WHM - It allows for the CNJ to have a higher DPS output with attack spells. Relevant in PvE (Soloing) AND PvP. WHM would still be Viable in PvP.

I'm sure there is some minor change that can be made to each and every Job/Class to give a fair and balanced (and logical) reason to use either/or.

Actually most of those stat gain differentials are from the soul crystal; that thing does give stats. However, in PvP base classes have lower +/- percentages than jobs do as well.

I think there should be more incentive to stay in a base class as well, since job skills are often incredibly vital as is and not worth more freedom with cross-classing more skills. That's aside from the higher stats a job has too, mind.

The only class that I've seen be better than the job in PvP is Marauder to Warrior.
The warrior job abilities are all defensive, to make it a viable tank for end game, whereas you don't need defence in PvP as much as you need DPS, so the ability to subclass things like Blood for Blood and Raging Strikes as a Marauder make it much much stronger.

Have not noticed the stat point divide before. Honestly was not sure of the reasoning.
A point I'd like to make though, is that there's no need to give Conjurer more Intelligence, as they still have Cleric's Stance.

Classes should just be abolished.

Why? Please share. You know, without classes there wouldnt be any jobs in the game. The new jobs will get a pass but for now we have classes.
