Hellsgaurd and the nose. Genetic? or Not?

I have been bothered recently after discovering that Curious Gorge did not have the Hellsguard signature nose. After doing some research or what little I could, I found that Curious Gorge's tribe had been shunned after a mess he had made. Originally, we had thought that the nose was genetic, possibly brought on from living in the volcanic region and breathing in the ash. But now, we are not so sure.

If its not genetic, then it would seem as though Curious Gorge was forced to remove it, or he removed it himself out of shame. If at all possible, could we have a hint or a solid answer as to where the hellsguard get their nose?

You could easily explain it as a recessive trait (some ancestor, such as one of his grandparents, being born with that same nose shape), or simply as manifest variety/diversity within the Hellsguard gene pool.

In any way, it fits him.

I'd like to point out that Moenbryda, who has a Seawolf name, but has the skintone of a Hellsguard, doesn't have the Hellsguard nose. So if we presume that her parents are from the different tribes, what Geist said about recessive traits might explain it. ^^

Her skintone looked pretty much like a Sea Wolf to me...

Or it could be just a way to make him look different than PC chars.

Or he could have had it broken so many times (dat plaster) that it has been smushed into a different shape XD

I read somewhere that its actually volcanic ash that they put on their noses. I need to find out where I read that.

It's not a selectable skintone.
For example:
Seawolf skintones are green, seagreen, white and black

While Moenbryda's skintone was more of a peach color(like a hyur), something that is impossible to get as a seawolf.

you can definitely get that skintone that she had, although your screenshots make her look darker than mine did. they may not show up like that in the color selector, but the skin colors are sometimes different than the skin selector shows.

Those are not my screenshots. They are two screenshots taken by two different people.
You can't I tried trust me, not even a hellgaurd can get the exact skintone as her.

This is the closest you can get as a Hellgaurd without the skintone becoming too pink or too bleached.

And its Impossible to get it as a SeaWolf, the closest skintone you can get is this one.

Which is actually the skintone that I use, and if you have seen any screenshots of my character you would know I'm extremly pale.

Wouldn't be the first time an NPC had a hairstyle/skin tone/what not that you can't get on a PC.
