System Error 2146697208

Been trying to log on since yesterday and keep getting this error, have searched forums and tried everything that other players have posted, but still cannot get into the game.

Do tech support ever read these forums? there has never been an official reply to any of the other posts I have read.

Added http://frontier.ffxiv.com to be excluded from anti-virus, which did not work, then added all the text after that address that appears in the error window and managed to get into the game, not sure if it that is the problem solved or just luck, worth a try if you are having the same problem.

Disabling my anti-virus entirely actually worked on the first try, but obviously this is just a temporary solution. I have to wait until everything reinstalls before I can see if adding that link to the whitelist works permanently.

I think the current date is part of the address so I'm assuming that the link is going to change every day and we're gonna have to add it to the whitelist every day if there ends up being no other solution to this.

Yep looks like it.

I was having the same issue, so I popped into my anti-virus (I use avast!) and when you enter the web address into the whitelist, you should be able to add a wildcard to the address. I added "http://frontier.ffxiv.com/*" (without the quotations). The asterisk is the wildcard, meaning anything that starts with that address should be excluded. Hope this helps!!

I'm using Avast! also and it looks like this is working consistently. I actually had already tried this but I put 'https' instead of 'http'.

I wonder if this problem is exclusive to people using Avast!

I'm using Avast as well, seems to be working ok now with wildcard.
