Odin FATE Impossible to complete

So why is it that the ODIN fate is now impossible to do?
Is it true that he gets harder with every battle?
Also why make a fate impossible to complete. had 50+ people at least 6 tanks in Ilev 130 gear and 15 healers in the same.
the largest guild in the server pretty much mobilized an entire raid team on him and we didn't even do 1% to his damage and he was 1shotting the tanks with regular attacks (not AOE) I know personally he did 28k damage to my DRG with a regular attack.
Dear FFXIV Powers that be. why have a fate so ungodly difficult with that many people?
I mean come on the fate is harder than the primal battle now. ive faced odin several times before and he was always able to be taken down. This time it was like watching a lvl 1 go up against a lvl 50.

Based on the conversations that followed everyone pretty much said they wouldn't be facing ODIN anytime soon in the fate if he spawned. so now you have a fate that the new players will never experience.

Odin fate is a server wide thing, not meant for small groups. With 50+(implying it's less than 60), 6 tanks and 15 healers, you only going to get a max of 39 dps. It's the same with behemoth, it's a server-wide zerg on the open world bosses, it's not a raid or a dungeon.

On successful Odin fates, you can see several hundred show up

Aside from what monochromicon has said, your tanks or healers were doing something wrong. As for you as dragoon taking 28k to the face that's completely normal... If you are the only one getting hit by him.

There are still some people out there not knowing that Odin's regular attack is a swipe that will oneshot everyone unless the damage is shared between at least 4 to 6+ players. Also, each succesfull attack of his applies a damage increase debuff, so they will take even MORE damage.

Odin is good for one thing: mass killings. I've never seen the Odin FATE without at least...30-40 dead people everywhere. That's on a good day. Bad days...I've seen entire groups wiped out in one hit, healers, ranged DPS, the whole lot. I've got screenshots of the mess. We downed him, but it was insane. There had to be 100+ people out there.

Haven't gone to Odin in a long time as I have all the items already, and the furnishing sells like crap on Balmung.

Odin does hit for insane amount of damage once in awhile, but majority of the regular attacks are survivable. Some people speculate it is an attack that split damage with the players around you, but I haven't really been able to split it, still taking like 12k on PLD here and there sometimes. Then again, it is hard to actually do anything in the lag.

It's no speculation, it's a fact. Odin's standard attack is a swipe and the damage needs to be split by as many tanks as possible in front of him. 3 tanks with a great HP pool might still survive, but barely, thus why you might want 6 in front of him instead. The major problem comes by the fact that he also applies a Damage Increase debuff each time he hits you, so you'll take even more damage. Cannot recall if that debuff can be dispelled or not, that's the only part I'm still uncertain with his fight.

okay that makes more sense now. we didn't have enough people or enough tanks up sharing the damage. the other times ive been there and we have beaten him after about 50-60 players toons loaded he was dead so I didn't see everyone.
I still have not seen behemoth and ive played since the beta lol!

Every time Odin is defeated by the server he goes up one level. Every time the server fails to kill him he goes down one level. If he is level 60, and there's not an army there to do battle with him he is going to wreck everyone. The fate will be failed and next time he pops he'll be lower level and slightly easier.
