Thank You Community

I know this community is not perfect, but it is the best I have EVER played with. I understand sometimes hunts get pulled early, I understand that some people watch cut scenes, and others go really fast. My personal experience is that I have received more kindness, patience and understanding in FF XIV than in any other game I have ever played and it is by a large margin. I have been playing since UO and have played every major game since. I just wanted to take the time to say a great big THANK YOU>

Let me share 3 acts of real kindness from strangers. I love the story, I was doing Praetorium for the first time and wanted to watch the cut scenes. I wanted to watch them as the events unfolded because it was the big finish. I was getting some pressure from others to watch them later. A female extremely competent Paladin who looked incredibly badass, stood up to people admonishing them "you were new once too" then waited for me, to show me the way, Gave some instructions that made things very comfortable for me. ALL CLASS. Another time doing the Navel on Hard with my WHM the BLM weapon dropped and the BLM asked if I needed it, I said I didn't think I was going to do the relic on my and BLM said NP I'll pass for you. I was offering an overpayment for a meld in Limsa Lominsa, a person came up and told they would do it, refused payment, told me to make them a friend and if I had questions about anything to just ask...WOW I have and she is always accommodating. Exodus FWIW

And I always wait first timers watch cutscene. It's called cortesy.

Who plays a FF game without watching CS?

It's a good community overall. Like with any community that is large, there will be various perspectives, goals and drivers but I'd say the vast majority of interactions in this game are very positive even if perspectives are different.

The other day I was standing around in Limsa waiting for a duty to pop, and a random guy came up and traded me a minion. It turned out to be one I already had, but it was still a neat thing. I couldn't find the guy to give it back and my FC mates suggested just paying it forward. So I'll probably do that.

I was hunting my B mark when I stumbled upon an A mark with another person. I suggested we'd team up and we did along with his friends. We took that sucker down!

This is really awesome! Glad to see there are others out there like this, because if you read the forums too often (like I do), you start to lose faith...

My personal experience has been far from great, or decent, but glad OP is enjoying himself.
