GOD AWFUL QUEUE TIMES

This is becoming a MAJOR issue. Are other people having the same issues with ques extending to 30 mins+ for a single match? If you are please go check out my other thread about a new PVP queue system and post in here telling SE that this is a major problem and that they need to fix it.

This may end up being just a rant thread.... but I'v been getting pretty annoyed lately. Part of the reason is a lot of people on primal swapped to twin adders because we did rediculously well over the past month on primal. If you look at # of victories in the standings adders COMPLETELY dominated. However now we have tons of scrubs that swapped over to get easy wins and I think thats causing a lot of the issue.

The queues don't pick up until about 2-3 hours from now. :( Still pretty ridiculous that all afternoon and early evening has such bad queue times.

2-3 hours from now? What time zone are you in?

the queue times are horrific. this could all pretty much be fixed but SE's insistence on lore adding to the quality of the games (it doesn't) will hold us back.

Not one match popped tonight, basically spent over an hour waiting for nothing. Time that I would have chosen to spend in other ways, had I known that it would have been spent waiting so unnecessarily long but that's just the problem, isn't it? It's really atrocious that we don't really know approximately how long we're going to have to wait at the onset, we aren't not being clued in at all to how much longer we might have to wait at any point in time, or how many people we're waiting on or if we're even waiting on other people at all- could it be 2 minutes from starting? 20? An hour and 20? Your guess is as good as mine, but when you queue with other people there's an added burden placed on each person to have to wait it out because if one leaves, everyone goes to the back of the line, and what if it was < 5 min from starting? Who the hell knows!? I'm sorry but an eta that's between between 'More than 30 minutes' and 'eternity' is not quite specific enough for me.

What upsets people in this game the most in my opinion, regardless of the context, is having their time wasted. If SE suspects something may be wrong with the hardware/software/design that will lead to extended wait times beyond what's reasonable, they need to COMMUNICATE that to us so we can make an informed decision as to whether we want to queue and wait it out anyway, or do something else with our time instead. On the other hand, if they feel that the queue times are not a concern and there is nothing timely planned to change them, we need to know that too because obviously we aren't happy with the current state of things and many of us would move on to other pursuits for good if this is in fact the new status quo. I see thread after thread about ways SE could address these ridiculous, widely fluctuating and increasingly degrading wait times, but I've seen nothing from SE themselves acknowledging that this is a concern or priority to them.

Our options as to what else we can do are very limited while we're being strung along by Duty Finder, both in-game and out. Think of the cumulative hours wasted when a party of 4 or more is kept waiting for 45 min to an hour or more for a single match, unable to stray out of earshot in case DF pops at any random unforeseeable moment. Or when one can no longer afford to wait or Internet disconnects and the party gets unregistered. Doing solo queue with Join in Progress doesn't really increase your chance of getting a faster queue, nearly as much as it increases your chance of getting a disadvantaged party that's doomed from the start, which somewhat defeats the purpose of playing to begin with.

You said it oh so well. I'm glad I'm not the only one having these feelings/issues. I get on to PLAY not wait around for ques. We know the population is big enough... if they have to get rid of GC vs GC vs GC to fix it I'd be sad to see it go but i would absolutely welcome faster ques. However, I think there are ways around it that don't have to necessarily involve getting rid of GC lore.

And then I stop queuing for frontlines because the wait times are so long, making it even worse. If I could reliably get into matches with less than 5 minutes wait, any time of day, then I would be doing hundreds of matches because the rewards become attainable if I know for sure I can play.

A free-for-all frontlines with no GC affiliation would probably fix things, but it would also be nice to bring more players into PvP. I thought the roulette would help, but I don't think many people know it exists. There should be an NPC highlighted by an icon at grand companies to let people know if they haven't added slaughter mode to their DF yet. An unmarked npc in airship landings doesn't help people who don't read patch notes.

The time being wasted is definitely a pain. But the overarching thing that bothers me is that SE doesn't seem to care at all and there's nothing we can do about it. No amount of well-thought out or well-reasoned posts matter: Devs don't read the english side of the forums and it's something even the JP players admit to.

If you want to get something done find someone to translate your stuff and put it up on the JP side. It might not work but at least it has a better shot than the 0% chance over here.

They need to remove GC restrictions. The queue times and unbalanced win rates are killing this mode.

I don't give a damn who is in who's GC. I can't play with half my FC on my main character because of GC restrictions, even though they said GC choice would not matter when they released 2.0. All I want to do is go into a match and play. Instead I'm sitting here queueing for like 40min with no pop because 1 out of the 3 GCs on my server rarely wins so they don't queue.

The PvP scene is moving too fast for SE. They need to fix imbalances and issues when they pop up, not wait 3 months for the next patch. Cometeors are still beyond broken. The queue times are broken. The GC's are broken. The maps are broken. Everything is just broken. Wolves den already died because of this.

When I get asked by potential players if the PvP is good in this game, I tell them to turn around because they will be disappointed.

I blame hunts.
