Glamour Book please? Save Character Data/Storage!!!

Instead of having us indefinitely hold items we wish to keep for future Glamours...

Wouldn't be simpler and more efficient just to have obtained item id's saved into this little keepsake?

That way you're not holding on to a ton of the physical item data either, like it's current Condition/Dye/Melds/Spiritbonds.

Sure, it may cost you development to rework the Glamour System to fit this mold.

But I think everyone can agree, it would serve the greatest good for the game; it's 100% worth the development resources/time.

Win-win too since you're (SE) struggling to meet our Inventory-demands & save Data (I don't mean this offensively, just factually).

Also, Glamour Prisms could still be required as a catalyst. So I'm not proposing Glamour Prisms be done with away necessarily.

Since the armoire already basically works on this principle and they've already stated they're reaching the cap of what they can do with that, I doubt we'll be seeing this until they revamp the servers.

Ya. Seen this thread quite a few times since I've played the game, agreed with them every time.

Not sure why the glamour system is so restrictive in so many ways. At least we have one now I suppose.

This would be a much better system. I understand that the armoire should work more or less like this and they've said that they're struggling to fit more into it (a silly notion since they should have planned to include all seasonal equipment that they planned to release at the very least), but this would, in practice at least, solve the inventory problems of a lot of players without increasing inventory space or adding additional retainers. Personally I have about 100 glamour items on the retainer I've designated for armor/ weapons and that's after reluctantly trading in about 30 items for seals recently (and never bothering with several things I didn't think I'd use).

They have been talking about a gear collection list thing though and this could piggy back on that so easily... I means seriously.... your list of collect gears are then usable for glamor.... You don't have to have the item anymore, just have it in the collection book.

I'd really love to have some sort of fashionista NPC whom is just a collector of all gear in the game whom which you can go to to "try on" but obviously not keep or buy from. This includes dungeon drops and so forth. So we have a way to look at what is possible to glamor before the struggle of trying to obtain it. I like your idea of the collection book, or at least some other means of storage that maybe could steam off this.

While you can't try on more than 1 thing at a time, you can 'try on' just about anything from just about anywhere already. Unique/ untradable gear might be tough to find I suppose, but if you can find anyone with it you can pretty easily check it out.

You see, the difference is, the physical item wouldn't be stored. Whereas the Armoire is legitimate storage.

I imagine that would make a huge, net difference on server-taxation.

See, with the Glamour Book, you could have both! The Glamour Book could be a database which contains all wearable item-ID's.

Containing all item-ID's wouldn't be a problem since, plausibly, the ability to unlock every item-ID on a single character would have to be present to implement the book in general.

If you haven't "unlocked" an item in the book, you could still Try On, the item's glamour-icon would just be grayed out.

You could even have a "Book Keeper" NPC, since we have enough Fashionista-attitude with the Aesthetician lol!

Would be fun to have the Book Keeper be an early Astrologian glimpse (perhaps a female Au Ra, wears their AF).

Also, if they're worried about server load for it being accessible Anywhere, they could put it as an item in Inn rooms and craftable (by alchemists) for housing like with Aesthetician (craftable crystal bell has been confirmed as forthcoming) and Armoire. Infact... it may be pretty awesome to have it as an option to use IN the Aesthetician menu (try on different gear sets or potential glamors with your new style and color BEFORE finalizing it as right now you have no clothes or current clothes as the only options)... but that would probably be a lot of hassle to program in comparison...
