I keep getting the message that my account may be at risk, and to update my password. I live alone, and no one uses my PC. So this does not make any sense to me, and I do not believe my account is at risk. This is not only annoying and a time sink, but now I cannot log in at all. Continuously saying that either my login or password is incorrect. No matter how many times I reset it.
And now I am getting this...yet again. "Because password entry has failed multiple times, you will not be able to log in for several minutes."
Exactly what was telling you your account may be at risk?
I get the password switch a lot if I change internet. I have a wireless connection and an Ethernet for two different nets, since the wireless one is really unreliable. Every time I switch, I have to change the password. I assume its something related to that.
Indeed. And if you viewed these forums, or logged into lodestone on another computer - Work, a friend's house, whatever - that can trigger the security thing that requires change of a password. Check your e-mail see, see if you have one from the system.
SE's servers check IP address logged in. A one time password key takes care of this "problem" by supplanting another version of protection.
