Getting sweaty easier.

I'm the kind of guy who will usually fill his bar with abilities just because he can. Today, I decided to experiment.

I removed all gathering skills from my bar other than Sweat of Brow. I wanted to see if it would thus go off more often or not, the concept being that if all abilities share the same probability trigger, the game would then need to randomly pick one is trigger, which in turn would give Sweat of Brow a 100% chance of triggering if the ability trigger happened.

The counter theory of course being that each ability has its own chance of triggering calculated independantly. Meaning if I only had Sweat of Brow equipped, I'd see that ability used no more frequently and overall fewer ability triggers would happen.


Now to start testing, I immediately got Sweat coming up more often. What I want to know is if it's just me and the RNG is playing with my brain, or if I actually have hit the nail on the head.

Anyone else tried this out?

I've only ever equipped Sweat of Brow in any of my gathering classes. The idea being, If something is going to trigger, it's the only thing I wish to trigger. When I tried applying other abilities, those seemed to come up more frequently than SoB. I don't know if there's logic behind it or not not being clear on how the whole system works. It's just something I've always have done.

Same, I don't wear or plan to wear any other skill unless my gathering class is 50. They need to allow gatherer skills to become active at the same time for any other skill to be worth even wearing right now. Allowing only one to be active makes all other skills worthless until 50. Don't know if they planned anything to fix this really.

I hadn't thought of it that way but you're right. If an ability that is not the Sweat triggers, Sweat can't trigger for the rest of the node...
Already the probability of getting it to trigger goes up regardless of how it works.

Indeed as everyone else has said, that is all I ever have equipped because when another ability is triggered it makes SoB impossible to trigger that node

Not only that. We should be able to use our skills like DoW/DoM skills. Add a recast timer and limit its use to a fixed ammount of gathering attempts or a set duration.

I just love when Sweat of Brow activates after the last gathering attempt during leves, just before you put away your tool. :mad:

maybe Ability triggers are calulates by Stats , this is just speculation but is very FF like say sweat of brow is Lightning based ( since the BG color is purple ) then SoB would proc more often if your DEX or lightning affinity is higher

On the other hand, different statistics have been known to influence specific types of gathering:
Strength = Logging
Vitality = Mining
Dexterity = Fishing
Intelligence = Harvesting
Mind = Quarrying
Piety = Spearfishing
