EXP Gains seems off
Im level 42 and i used to get around 400 exp for mob kills. I used my chocobo companion and the exp was cut in half. Well after i sent him away and started to kill mobs the exp was still cut in half. Im even getting bonus exp and for example a level 40 mob was giving mee 230 exp with 55 percent exp as bonus. Is this normal or is something wrong?

I don't see this happening though. Are you sure other things are not in effect? Armoury bonus, rested bonus, etc?

just googled armory bonus and i dont have a character to 50. I do however have a bit of rested bonus and my guild is using the bonus exp action trait. It just seems way too low for mobs that are a couple levels under me

So you mean you see something like this?
Before: Gain 400 exp (55% bonus)
With Chocobo: Gain 200 exp (55% bonus)
Send Chocobo away: Gain 200 exp (55% bonus)
all while killing the same mob with the same level?
50% should be the rested bonus, 5% should be the Free Company exp bonus action.
That sounds weird.

Did your level or the mob's level change at any point during this experiment?
To rephrase: Were the mobs you were killing the same name and level when it showed 230 vs. 400? Because mob EXP yields are based on a calculation based on your level and the mob's level.

Is it also possible you were getting "Chain" bonus experience and the chain ended thus, reducing your Experience back down to the normal. (I know you said the mobs were below your level, if thats true this may not apply. But if they were your level or higher, it does apply)
From FFXI Wiki but works the same in XIV-> Chaining: also known as an "EXP Chain" or simply "Chain", this term is used to describe the acquisition of an increased number of experience points from a monster's death due to the speed in which the monsters were killed.

according to my FC they said they were only getting 500 exp on level 50 field mobs. maybe its my noobness or something but it seems like it dropped significantly
