Reatiner bug

Well, it all started when I went to hire a second retainer today. I have done the required quests (as I had one retainer already hired), but for some reason the Vocate would not allow me to hire a second. So after double checking the quests and seeing if there was anything missing I came to the conclusion I must be bugged. No problem, I used /shout and made inquiries and someone's advice was to maybe delete the retainer I had, and create a new one in hopes it would reset and I'd be prompted to make two at that time.

Well, I did that and now I have 0 retainers and am allowed to hire 0 retainers. The MB was pretty much my only source of income so I'd really appreciate some help/guidance with this issue.

This is probably a silly question, but do you have any venture coins? Venture coins are required during the process of hiring a retainer or when you send them out on said ventures. Like I said, it is probably a silly question, but it's the only reason I can think of for you having the problems you're having.

Make sure you are trying to hire your new retainers from the same city you started in at the beginning of the game. If you started as a Gladiator in Uldah I do not believe you can hire retainers at Limsa or Gridania.
