Do your story quests to unlock dungeons, and do them. Fight FATEs when they're around or while you're in queue. Grab quick sidequests for bonus EXP. Etc etc.
Your daily low level dungeon roulette is the single best source of EXP, but that is limited in bonus to once per day.
Alse Levequests and Guildhests give good xp (and with the hests you get an xp bonus the first time you do one of them)
I got to 50 just by doing the story missions. Took me about a month of casual play.
yea i think its going to take me about a month to get there. Does the game get even better after 50?
According to a lot of people, the game arguably doesn't even 'start' until you hit 50. At this point I believe there's more 4-man dungeons at level 50 than there were getting to level 50 - which doesn't even factor in the massive count of additional bosses in the form of trials and raids, PvP, relic quests, dailies, and other content.
As long as i am handsomely rewarded for my work to levle 50 im a happy camper.
If it's your first time playing through, I highly recommend you make sure to follow the story missions, as a lot of content is barred behind the story and won't unlock until you've completed it. As a nice bonus though, it should rocket you through the game pretty quickly, with the only exception being Duty Finder sections.
Firsttime: Story as you only get to unlock raid content with 2.0 Story.
Else the usual Dr low, Dr Guildhest, Challenge log, Fates, Dungeon spam and ask your FC for the XP boost. Also 3% from Food can help even if its little. Levequests are no use for fighting classes save the allowances for craftinggathering classes as there it is good XP (tho make the 1 to unlock for each area).
