Lucis tool losing it's dye color/reverting to it's original texture when synthing

So I was so happy to get my Ullikummi Lucis last night, and my favorite color is blue, so I dyed it metallic blue.

But I was disappointed to found out today that when I went to synth, the color reverted back to its original texture:

I don't know if this was a bug, or if this is intended, but it's weird enough for me just know the answer to this. I'm really hoping it's a bug!

Yes it does.

Also, I have the LTW Lucis and it does that same thing, so likely it occurs on all Lucis tools.

well not a total loss, at least you still have proof that it was dyed, how about a screen shot of the item information (showing the dye info) and you standing by it with the tool appearing undyed. I think showing that would kick the dev team into high gear since it is not only the best tool you can get but also the said dyed is from the cash shop.
