please raise poetics cap

since the increase in tomes gained through dungeons, you gain poetics so fast that you can easily hit the cap of 450 before the week is even half over by only doing 3 roullettes a day

So imagine if SE was just like "lol ok"

If you get all your gear in week one of a patch what are you going to do for the rest of it? There has to be a balance between hardcore and casual players, and we all know FFXIV's team is all about balancing!
The point of a "cap" is to stop players progressing too fast... thus increasing boredom... thus increasing a need for newer content faster. - And then you'll become overwhelmed with how much new stuff there is to do. Poor development team, right? Nobody wins this way. Increasing the poetics cap is not a good way to go. :^) Plain & simple.

im aware its there to slow progression, but they have raised the cap before, back on mythology when it was the rarer tome

Yeah week cap was 300 once, before it was 450, and I think an increase to 600 would be nice. You don't run out of things to do since you have multiple jobs to gear anyway.

You know back when Mythology were the weekly tomestones, they originally had it only at 300 a week, so if you wanted to get all the gear for the left side of your class, you'd need around/over 3300 myth, which would take 11 weeks just to gear up a single character, which is over one fifth of the whole year.

Plus now with World of Darkness we can get additional 120 gear for our main/other classes, which is pretty nice.

I like how the weekly limit is now, doesn't let people go too quickly, but you 'do' have the ability to get atleast one item each week (Belt/accessories) or just skip a week for the bigger armor. Though I have seen some people in game complain about the limit due to them buying gear that wasn't BiS and wanting more poetics to get stuff that they should have first.

It'll probably happen when a new currency gets introduced. Im guessing expansion.

Considering the amount of jobs some people have, the cap leaves jobs behind. They gotta focus on one. That's pretty annoying.

While the game encourages multiple job play... It's not like you're going to play/raid as all of them. You will stick with 3 or 4 at much. I'm unable to go to final coils due to not finding people with to beat turn 9.

My Ninja has the highest ilvl right now at 116, full IW on the left side and a few on the right. My monk is ilvl 113 (finished leveling like 3 weeks ago) with Diamond weapon, IW belt and gloves and 1 or 2 jewels. Then my PLD who is getting my attention is 110 (collecting alexandrite for Novus), has IW belt and Demon Armor, still pending on getting something more this week on WoD and getting a tank accessorie this week too (most likely bracelet for more Acc, since Demon Set has no acc on it but the belt and it is still inferior than the acc the IW belt gives). All in all, I won't reach 130 with any of them, but it will give me a good amount of flexibility. So right now, 450 poetics a week is just fine.
