Logging out doesn't remove the 3d model from the world.

So you might be wondering how I came accross this bug in the first place.

I was standing around LL leve counter waiting for my boyfriend to arrive when I decided to log out because my graphics settings were too high for the frame rate to function properly.

So I log out and as I've closed the entire XIV program and fiddling with the confiq menu my boyfriend shouts from the other room.

"Ok I see you let's start running to the camp!" ...o__O()

I walk over to his room and stare in awe because sure enough he's standing in front of my character that is doing his idle animations without a care in the world.

I had to go and check on my PC that XIV really was closed to believe what I was seeing.

We waited for about 5 minutes but the character didn't go anywhere until I logged back on and my doppelgänger left at the second I was back in the game.

Did you log out? Or just force-quit? If you didn't do a proper logout, that's why you were still there. If you did... well, that's just odd.

I smell conspiracy! SE is doing this on purpose so the servers look full. This explains the mass of afk players in towns xD

I didn't force log out I logged out via the start menu so shouldn't the character be off the game even before I can even reach that screen? I mean You can select another character to log in with if you're anywhere in the menus. But as I was in the game the entire XIV program was closed I only had the config program open. Not the XIV program.

Your character will remain in game for about 10 min after logging out d/cing. That's the reason why it takes so long to log back in after your internet kicks you off. It's almost a 10 min wait.

We are talking about proper logouts and not disconnects.

1.Always
2.Sometimes
3.Once (Did not reproduce)
4.Unknown

Area and Coordinates:
Area and map coordinates where the issue occurred.

Again, that's a completely different issue. We are NOT talking about forced/accidental disconnects. A proper logout does not lock you out for 10 minutes. It just seems to keep the character model in town for some time.
