It would be nice to see something like this as a setting:
- Allow all incoming tells (default)
- Allow only tells from friends and FC members
- Allow only tells from friends
- Disallow all tells

Would love for some sort of option like this (and the option expanded to friend invites), but it's falling on deaf ears.
What you're suggesting has been suggested several times (more options given to the player to filter tells from certain groups).
SE hasn't shown a single sign that they plan on programming anything that would help players deal with RMT. -
