My solution to SMNs(yes it's overused, but I think this could work)

I posted a thought on it on another post, but I may as well make a standalone and see what the community thinks.

I believe the solution to SMNs when it comes to DPS and MP issue is to decrease aetherflow just a bit. Decrease the recast time to 60sec to 45sec, exclusive to SMNs alone. It doesn't need a potency buff nor needs to decrease MP cost on abilities. By doing this it can help SMNs keep their DPS in the standard ppl are expecting overtime at the same time makes it easier to keep your MP numbers to feel relieved. The recast time can be 50sec, but I want to make sure that it doesn't break balance of the job and make it to where it's on par w/ the other job's DPS.

What do you think? Does it need a decrease or something else. It took me weeks to think on this.

Yo would have done well to actually read on the theorycrafting before making yet another thread. The MP issue is not the only issue that Summoners are facing. There are two casters at the moment. The BLM does more damage on every endgame fight at the moment. Two turns (7 and 9) are arguably the best for Summoners. But even now I'm sure BLM can also outDPS them there.

BLM has better single target damage, AoE damage and better utility. It also has infinite resources.
So in theory if you give SMN a better eatherflow, then BLM still has infinite resource, better ST and better AoE and also better utility.
Your post and "solution" has been discussed about a hundred times now as well.

Well I did said that this would be the better option due to the fact not many will go back to old posts. 2nd it would be insane to go through old posts. I wouldn't hurt to revive something even though it's constantly discussed cause I do care about the job. I would say something about Blm, but want to focus on SMN at the time being.

I think what Osmond mean in dps increase would be in the downtime inbetween the time you used you last aetherflow stack for Fester vs the time Aetherflow skill end its cooldown. Having it on a shorter cooldown means a more consistent use of Fester, more often, which would be, no matter by how many, still a slight dps increase. Would it be enough to make it to best BLM in ST, maybe, maybe not, I don't care im not SMN. Just wanted to light this in case people couldnt see what he means by dps increase.

In short: reduce time for aetherflow give more time SMN can DPS, and use fester more often, maybe one more actually per minute, which I think, with the power of it, can make a consequent dps increase if used optimally. After, i don't know, we would need testing.

If only if it was that simple, but it's not. Making a skill have separate cooldowns between SMN and SCH seem weird; I just can't picture it happening. I feel like nothing will change if this happens cause I tend to use up all my stacks with 30-40 seconds...
