Suggestion: Glamour Idea
I had an idea for loosening restrictions on glamour while keeping SE's "we don't want mages wearing tank armour for confusion purposes" mentality intact: Let us glamour within our Discipleship. So DoW can glamour anything equippable by any DoW class and all DoM classes can wear the same robes. This also makes it MUCH better for if you want, for example, the SMN boots to be visible on your BLM too when they have a shared base item (instead of the base boots on BLM and SMN boots on SMN). Or you could glamour a WVR coat or BSM apron over your Artisan Apron and have it visible on all classes instead of just the one it was made for. Gives more options, fixes the "dual-class" items, AND keeps SE's principles! :D

Actually SE gave mages two pieces of heavy armor in patch 2.5

So while yes, I agree that unlocking all armor in your discipleship would be great. They have already shown that they are willing to do more. So let's do more!

SE's excuse for glamour restrictions grows weak patch after patch. They say they don't want new players to be confused when they see a mage in heavy armor, yet we have NPCs like Papalymo since 1.0, then we're given the ability to tank in bikinis and stuffed suits, then tanks get a witchy set to glamour at will from Halloween, and on and on and on. Now we even got the option to fight completely naked thanks to the full Emperor's set. And yes, odin gear gives mages heavy armor as well.
Dear Devs, you have contradicted yourself by releasing all this gear that goes against your decision. Give it up and lift all restrictions already!

I agree, but they sounded pretty adamant that they stick with "no confusing gear" so I thought discipleships would be a good medium. :P
