TUrn 11 - BLM Dps tricks

Heya Nukers...

I... know enough about BLM to prolly keep from burning my robe, and that's about it.

That being said, was curious if there were any lessons I could pass on to our static's BLM when it comes to Turn 11 DPS.

I know that you should Scathe while moving, and you could prolly Swiftcast something while moving if necessary, but that's pretty much the extent I know about keeping deeps up while dealing with mechanics.

That being said... can ya help me to understand the fight from that job perspective? I tank it... so over half the mechanics you guys deal with barely effect me.

The first and last phases are pretty straight forward for blm. The add phase is where it gets tricky. The sphere has a magic resist debuff so it is recommended you place your casters on the cube. Our BLM hangs out with the egg to minimize movement dodging lasers and works on the cube while the rest of us kill the sphere. If the cube is dying too fast he switches to dps the egg. Since he is stacked on the egg anyway he calls out when it is moving to signal our tanks to rotate their adds around the room.

Once the cube and sphere die he uses lethargy on the egg to slow it. Our scholar applies Miasma and it is literally locked in place while we finish it off. (WHM stone 1 works well too.) This really increased his dps on the egg since he wasn't having to stop casting to stay in melee range as the egg moves rather quickly.

Just a small tip we had our blm do in p1 to minimise movement, the raid stacks on boss' butt except for the blm who stands on the left side, this means he only has to move for one nerve gas (dodges towards tanks) just make sure if they get the seeds stack icon that at least two people swing round and stack on him

I stand just outside of the bosses Resonance ability for the first half. That way, I usually could cast clip to avoid the Gas. I also am able to ignore the Seed of River and Sea thanks to Manaward.
For second phase, I stand where Egg is. I have a Facetarget Macro just incase the Cube moves out of my LoS. (only use it then).
For final phase, memorize the bosses attack pattern so you can know when to hold a proc or potentially swiftcast.

My P1 position is always like this. U can also take the counterpart all the way to northwest. This way u have to dodge 1 time (best case) or 2 times (worst case).
P2 I just stay close to egg when it stops moving. Most BLM will take down the cube HP faster than the sphere. Staying close to egg gives u a chance to land thundercloud/firestarter proc on egg whenever u see cube HP is lower than sphere.
P3 most ppl will give BLM special place right behind the boss even when all ppl have to spread for seed, so u can stay at the place all the time, except when u get the nanospore or dodging nerve gas.
