All ships in game act like static objects

I know that this thing probably will never be fixed/ changed but am I the only one who finds it annoying that all the ships in game look like static objects? I believe that making them atleast sway (I hope it is the correct English word for the ship swinging motion I mean) a bit wouldn't be that hard to achieve and it would really make locations with harbors look better. Now it just looks like the ships aren't even in water.. like they are just flying. :eek:

the objects in the water are really static, because the are no physics, but when the expansion was mentioned for the first time, Yoshi said that they had to chose between expanding the world to the sky (flying) or to the sea (swimming), we could expect some water physics for the second expansion, of course this is just speculation until SE says otherwise.

I find this to be a bad subject to rant on since in 1.0 you could actually get ON the ferry and travel.
I thought this was a thread about the lack of sea/air travel but no it was just another nit picking OP.

I miss pirate battles and random fishing adventures from Mhaura and looking at the scenery.

I like the OP post and I thought the same too if the ships was just to sway a little. I like these types of making it more life like features.

I'll put this is my "not a big deal so it's probably never going to happen" box.

There's pretty similar "ferrys" out of costa del sol, used primarily for fishers.

Maybe if FFXIV had the budget of WoW, we might see these kinds of things addressed, but we have to remember that they're probably doing the best with the subscriber base they have.

i think a step in the right direction would be going to a harbor and recording the ambient sounds like they did for the shroud. Seagulls cawing, bells softly dinging in the distance, waves splashing against the docks.

Next would be a rotation of ships coming in and out of port...
