[DEV] I came in like a wrecking ball. The way of getting ADS Mount.

Hello all,

This thread isn't meant for complain but I'm most likely trying to find a logical (lore wise) answer to a legitimate question.

Why is the new ADS mount, a most iconic Coil of Bahamut enemy / boss, coming from a PVP (Frontline) Achievement reward? Huh?!

As a PVE player only and as a raider I have absolutely no interests into PVP. I don't have anything against PVP activities since it's a pure question of tastes but to me... an ADS mount coming from a PVP achievement is like seeing a Twintania mount coming from a crafter achievement... It is just wrong :confused:

Any thoughts?

On a side note, could we get a Twintania mount from a Coil Achievement in the future? :3 pretty please :D

And why do Warriors of Light wear bikinis and snowman heads? *shrugs* Like a lot else in this game, it's just for silly fun and isn't connected to lore. :)

Frontlines PVP features mobs and relics of allagan technology, to be quick to the point. In both modes you destroy stationary ones to get points or buffs for your GC team.

In a roundabout way, it kinda makes sense to be able to get an allagan technology mount from the matches.

Because the PVPers are actually fighting over ruins to excavate and research. Maybe we found a deactivated ADS and reactivated it.

You raiders just go into the coil and destroy everything. Did you think that blowing up the ADS would teach you anything?

Frontlines has tons of Allagan tech laying all around and even has a subplot involving Omega Weapon. Did you miss that? Allagan technology definitely fits into PvP.

Honestly i was hoping for something like "to clear T2 with allagan rout (no enrage)" xD

Because during your Nth match out on the Flats, you found one half-buried, dug it up, and it rebooted in some kind of config mode where it decided you were its owner.

While I'm happy to have something else to work toward in Frontlines, since I'm already level 43, I also have to agree that this is a weird reward to tie to PvP. I guess they wanted to encourage people to try it out, who wouldn't otherwise?

Though as someone who doesn't typically enjoy PvP, I really have to endorse giving Frontlines a try...it can be really fun if you get a good group, and it's also a great way to level certain kinds of desynth.

That's probably why, sadly it won't push me to do PVP :p there is a reason why I did choose ffxiv and not one from the many Korean mmos with PVP at every corner.

I don't know really, Allagan ruins being part of Frontline doesn't explain why a most iconic monster as ADS isn't coming from its main content, as always raiders are left behind when it come to achievements anyway :p even The Hunt got more titles and ton of points than the Raid category.
