QoL - Armoury Chest's place in Synthesis, item swapping

As of the Nexus to Next Weapon step in the relic chain, I've found my armoury chest's main hand space pretty full with blunt scimitars. If I want to craft these into Aeolian Scimitars, though, I have to pull them to my inventory. ... Why?
On a similar note, with my main hand space full in my Chest, I can't do something as simple as swap out a fully bound main hand item in my inventory for one I have equipped. It HAS to pass through the Armoury Chest. ... Why? This is especially odd since newly obtained items will simply redirect straight to my inventory, while these older ones have to get shuffled around.

The Armoury Chest's use of storing equipped items separately from our inventory is great and all, but filtering every little thing through it incessantly is a pain. Surely it can't be hard to relax the rules on it a bit.

Character Configuration > Character Tab > Inventory Settings > Uncheck "Store all newly obtained items in the Armory Chest"
