In regards to Crop Tending Notifications in 2.5

I read that you will be removing the Crop tending notification from the Company Activity list. As I read it, it seemed too me to only include fertilization in that change. Will you be adding a different method to let others know which plants have or need fertilized other then checking the plants themselves? For my FC they liked they fact that you can just check the Activity window and see which plants have been fertilized.

I can understand wanting to cut down on number of notifications, I'm just asking if you guys can add an option to turn it back on or add a timer or something of the like or something to let others know if/when a plant needs to be fertilized without constantly having to check the plant itself?

I'd like to know why they're removing this feature, when I've never seen anyone ask for it to be removed, and in fact many people have been asking for a similar feature to be added to the gardens in personal houses?

It's probably something to do with reducing character data, since that seems to be the problem holding every aspect of the game back at the moment. But rather than taking functionality away from players (remember when we could log out/enter and instance and return inside our houses?), maybe they should be concentrating their efforts on fixing the base problem? As nice as it is to have huge content updates every month or so, I don't think anyone would mind if they took a little time off to improve the basic infrastructure of the game.

They should only add filters for the FC activity log.

Filters:
- Garden
- Promotion/Demotion/Kick
- Chocobo Training
- Actions bought/used
and so on


I don't really like that they are removing that, even though I always thought the gardening messages were a huge load of spam to the activity log.

Just checking the FC Activity selection, you can select specific categories aside from all notifications, i.e. All, Entitlements, Membership etc. If the remove it from the All selection ok I can see that, but at least leave it on if someone selects Garden notifications from the Activity window, just to see at glance what plants have been tended, fertilized etc.

As I'm sure everyone knows, fertilization can only be performed once per hour. If someone attempts to add more fertilizer before that one hour period is up they'll receive an error message indicating the crop isn't ready to receive more. If the hour has passed the request to fertilize will open up the player's inventory so they can select the fertilizer. That's really the only indicator we've had up until now and we'll still have that going forward.

When gardeners are fertilizing multiple plants/gardens every hour the log gets spammed very quickly. There is a limit to the amount of information displayed there and more important information is deleted (easily) as new gardening notifications come in. Even the existing filters don't help; once information (e.g. someone leaving the guild) is spammed off the log it won't show up in the log even if you filter out gardening information. That's obviously not good.

The fertilizer notifications in the log were useless anyway. After 30 minutes they're listed as happening "1 hour" ago (even though it hasn't been an hour), which ends up leading to confusion as gardeners will make repeated (failed) attempts to fertilize a crop that won't accept more fertilizer for the next 1-30 minutes.

Honestly, tending notifications should be removed as well. They really don't need to be there adding to the spam. If you're wondering if the plants have been watered within the past 12-24 hours.. just water them. It only takes a moment. Unfortunately this change only seems to target the fertilization messages, not the tending notifications as well.

A timer next to the fertilizer option in the plant menu wouldn't hurt (the same way we see "Train (59 minutes)" as greyed out with our Chocobos after training them).
