Not another buying the expansion twice but could be looked at that way

I own 4 pc's in my house and 4 ps4's. I have 4 ppl in my house that all play on both. Each of us has bought the game for both pc and ps4. I understand we need the license on both to play on both. My question is very specific though.

If we buy the expansion for 4 pc's. Buy 1 copy on ps4 and install it on all 4 ps4 consoles. Will the resulting 3 ps4 players that have a pc license be able to make use of the software that has been added? I do not see where that specific question has been asked or answered.

I don't have a problem either way just want to know for sure.

It is likely to be based on the account itself and not the copy of the game. If the account that is logging in has the expansion code registered, they will have access to the content. You would need a copy of the expansion for each FF14 account that plays the game. If they all share the same account and just play at different times, then it is only 1 expansion for that 1 account.

I believe with the way the product codes work, it doesn't matter your platform. It only differs in regards to the software you need to install. The product codes should be allowed to register to any account regardless of them being PS4 or PC

Logically speaking, since the reason PS3/4 and PC licenses are separate is because the former uses someone else's service, the expansion, which has no bearing on Sony's servers, will require a single purchase per account.

Each account/system will need a license attached to it. In this case, 8 of them. Enjoy your $300+ expansion.
