We still can't be social while in a duty/dungeon?

Is this ever going to be changed? It's unacceptable that we can't talk to friends (or linkshells edit: people keep saying I'm wrong but you cannot use linkshells in pvp) when we're doing instanced content. One shouldn't have to choose between talking to people and playing the game.

It's weird that the only thing we don't have access to while we're in an instance is sending tells. Linkshells and free company chat aren't locked out.

I've never not been able to talk in linkshells while in instances (PvP notwithstanding of course). In fact, the first linkshell I had was created for the sole purpose of circumventing the lack of /tells in instances.

Gonna say I think you have been missing out...because you can do everything but send /tells.

mainly to seemingly avoid people harassing party members and other such nonsense.

Can't do linkshells in PVP, and not sure but I think you can't talk in FC either.

Wrong.
Anything other than Tells can be used during an instance.
As such, you are perfectly capable of talking to people you know on your Free Company or Linkshells.

This is because of hivemind cheating and giving the enemies information.

I've watched people communicate in FC & LS chat while in instances and Frontlines. You just can't access the menus for those during that time, nor can you send tells. Honestly, I prefer it that way. Last thing I want to do is take the time to deal with an RMT spammer while I'm busy in Frontlines or dungeons.

The reason you can't do that in PVP is so there's absolutely no way to cheat using the in-game systems.
Besides, and this is going to make me sound a bit elitist but I don't care, if you're in PVP you should be focused on keeping yourself and your party alive, not chatting with your LSmates about pie recipes or something.

I think half of it is the potential for harassment. Which shouldn't happen cus you can block them, and people on your friend list should not do it.
Maybe make it so only people on your friend list can receive/send tells to you mid dungeon?

I think the other half is they have dedicated instance servers or something? So the "link" is somewhat severed between world servers and instance servers. Thats a guess, I am not techy.
